one day at a time

i dont listen to alot of rap but this song is cool. its basically about how from a really young age, kids get into the wrong things, either cuz its cool or pressure and even to escape their harsh reality. the title "one day at a time" means that people have to change and the process will take a day at a time. this is a cool song and speaks to his fans in a huggee way.this song is also cool because it talks about how rappers today dont care about the music but their more interested in money and guns....tupac...R.I.P.

Rap

when i listen to music, i need two things. one:a cool guitar player. two:cool/meaningful lyrics. i could live without the guitar, but the lyrics are very important. the rap today is too much about unimportant and non meaningful bullshit. i could give a shit about 50 cent and him getting shot for dealing or buying drugs. not to sound like a typical white kid but i think eminems early work are the best songs since tu pac or biggie. he writes about how life in certain neighborhoods can fuck up a kids mind. he also talks about his f'ed up relationship with his mom. am i alone?comment and tell me whether or not you agree.

Southern Cross

written in the 60's by Crosby stills and Nash, in the peace love and happiness era southern cross, in my opinion, can be interpreted in two ways. the first and most obvious meaning is love and the struggles of keeping the person you love. but i mostly think that its got a way deeper meaning. i believe its about overcoming big obstacles in life. this last verse is what made me come to my theory. "we cheated and we lied and we never failed to fail, it was the easiest thing to do", this made me think that it was about how many people decide to take the easy way out in life. this song has a big impact on my life because i unfortunately take the easy way out on important things.

Let it Be

obviously a legendary song by the Beatles. written by Paul McCartney, this is a song on their second to last album "Let it Be". Theres no real deep meaning to this song that i can find except one. i believe that this song might be written as a good bye or foreshadowing to the bands breakup. "And when the broken hearted people, living in the world agree, there will be an answer, Let it Be" is a famous line which i think means that many people besides the band will be upset by the breakup. just a sad song to the die hard Beatles fans...not much else but that..lol

"Hurricane"

"Hurricane" is a song by Bob Dylan about a black man unfairly accused of murder. The lyrics "In Paterson that's just the way things go.
If you're your
black you might as well not show up on the street 'Less wanna draw the heat." show that the song is about the black people being treated unfairly in America. I think that it is more deeply about how the legal system is messed up. I'm only 15 but I think that the United States needs to change the legal system in a huge way. i don't think that criminals already tried guilty should be able to make money in jail. Charles Manson wrote a book in prison and is probably making a huge amount of money. i also think that the system is too easy on most criminals for the major things that they do. if some dude rapes a little girl, he could do 5 years and be back on the street to repeat. i don't believe that criminals should have many human rights once they are guilty.
